Israeli cellco Cellcom has announced that its quarterly net profit for the three months ended 30 September 2007 doubled thanks to a rise in subscribers, higher revenues from content services and cost efficiencies. The company, which was floated in February, posted third quarter net profit of USD67 million compared with USD33 million a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter rose 7.2% to USD392 million. At the end of the third quarter the company had nearly 3.02 million subscribers, up 57,000 in the three month period. 3G subscribers accounted for 281,000 of the total.
