NSN completes core network upgrade for Elisa

Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has announced that it has completed the deployment of an MSC Server solution for Finnish telco Elisa; deployment of the 3GPP-compliant mobile softswitching equipment is now complete fully operational within the network. Elisa undertook the upgrade of its switching infrastructure in order to meet growing demand: ‘The development of our core network is crucial to Elisa’s future success as our call traffic continues to increase,’ said Kirsi Valtari, Vice President for Production at Elisa. ‘Implementing a 3GPP Release 4 architecture will improve our overall network capacity, and optimise the costs of providing voice services.’
