UK-based mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse is readying itself to launch commercial broadband services in the Irish Republic under the TalkTalk banner, reports ENN. Carphone plans to offer three packages at launch and aims to have the service up and running in time before Christmas. ‘The plan is to have TalkTalk Broadband available by the end of the year and it will be available to both new and existing TalkTalk customers. We are very excited about it and think it will be a great addition to our current product suite,’ a spokeswoman for Carphone Warehouse told the journal. The retailer will offer three straightforward and flexible packages, it says. Two of the packages will have downstream connections of 1Mbps and 2Mbps respectively, with the possibility of other speeds being added in future. Carphone Warehouse declined to provide more details of the service or proposed tariffs, but will do so closer to the launch.
