BSkyB has reported continuing strong demand for its services in the three months ended 30 September 2007. Group revenue for the quarter rose 11% on the same period of 2006 to GBP1.18 billion (USD2.45 billion) while gross profit climbed 15% to GBP782 million. Operating profit slipped from GBP180 million to GBP143 million, as losses from Sky Broadband and Sky Talk jumped to GBP51 million. In terms of operations, the company added 83,000 net new customers in the period to take its total to 8.66 million. Sky broadband added 223,000 customers to take its tally to 939,000, while Sky Talk claimed 679,000 users at the end of September, up 153,000 on the previous quarter.
