MIG flying high as OTE stake increases

1 Nov 2007

Greek investment firm MIG has raised its stake in the country’s incumbent telco OTE to 15%, according to Andreas Vgenopoulos, MIG’s former vice chairman. Speaking at a press conference, Vgenopoulos said that although MIG is the second largest investor in OTE, it is friendly towards the top stakeholder, which is the Greek state with a 28% holding, and does not doubt its leading role. However, Vgenopoulos refused to comment on how high MIG wants to take its stake but hinted that purchases of OTE stock would continue.
