Chunghwa posts third quarter results

Chunghwa Telecom has posted a 10% year-on-year increase in third quarter revenue to TWD52.1 billion (USD1.61 billion), helping net income to climb 6.8% to TWD11.9 billion. Fixed line services accounted for 29.7% of total revenue, mobile services for 36.4%, 23.8% came from its internet and data offerings and other services make up the remainder. Capital expenditures reached TWD15.8 billon for the nine months ended 30 September 2007, of which 83% was for wireline equipment (including fixed line voice, internet and data) and 15% was for wireless equipment. Compared to the corresponding period last year, CAPEX was down 14.6%, mainly due to a TWD3.4 billion decrease in spending on mobile infrastructure.
