Citizens gets approval for Global Valley buy

The US wireline operator Citizens Communications has had its proposed acquisition of Global Valley Networks approved by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) in California. The USD62 million deal will add around 15,000 access lines to Citizens’ customer base; it currently claims around 2.6 million fixed access lines in service and 388,000 broadband internet subscribers. The deal is expected to close within the next few weeks.
