StarHub launches pre-pay CATV service

Singaporean telecoms and cable TV provider StarHub has launched a new pre-paid service, dubbed HubStation FlexiWatch, which allows people to subscribe to a bouquet of channels and pay only for the duration for which they wish to access them. Aimed at people who do not usually take cable TV services, the HubStation is available for SGD560 (USD381.70) and once installed, allows the user to choose from seven FlexiWatch channels including popular Chinese movies and drama channels. Prices for the service range from SGD3 to SGD5 per channel per day; subscribers must take a minimum of three days.
