Wireless broadband provider Ertach plans to launch mobile WiMAX services in the first quarter of 2008, according to Sebastian D’Alessandro, head of the company’s marketing and communications. Speaking with BNamericas, he said that Ertach is already migrating part of its infrastructure to the mobile WiMAX standard in Buenos Aires and other cities. ‘We will initially launch the service in Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Mendoza, targeting the corporate segment,’ D’Alessandro said. BNamericas reports that Ertach is currently being acquired by Mexican giant Telmex, pending authorisation for local investment group Sociedad Comercial del Plata (SCP) to sell its stake.
