Motorola’s WiMAX win

9 Oct 2007

Motorola has won two separate WiMAX infrastructure contracts with Far EasTone (FET) of Taiwan. The deals come as part of the government’s M-Taiwan project which aims to increase the availability of advanced communications services in rural areas. Phase one of the rollout will be completed by the end of the year, while the second phase is slated to be complete by early 2008. The areas covered by the deployments have not been revealed, though Motorola says the contracts represent the largest WiMAX rollout in Taiwan to date.
