Jajah ker-ching! eMobile launches mobile VoIP service

Japanese mobile start-up eMobile, part of the eAccess group, has launched a mobile VoIP service over its HSDPA network, reports Telecompaper. The cellco is offering a eMobile-branded handset pre-installed with IP application software developed by VoIP telephony company Jajah, adding a fresh revenue stream to its armoury. eMobile’s ONE Alpha handset will offer calls to domestic landlines for JPY2.40/minute (USD0.02/minute), and JPY15.99/minute for a call to a domestic mobile. In addition, calls to the US, China and Taiwan will be charged at JPY2.14/minute, calls to France, Germany, Italy and Spain at JPY2.36/minute and calls to Hong Kong at JPY2.70/minute.
