Orcon delays MVNO launch

1 Oct 2007

New Zealand ISP Orcon says it is delaying the launch of its mobile resale service until February 2008. The firm, which has signed a wholesale mobile deal with the country’s largest cellular operator, Vodafone New Zealand, was set to launch before the end of this year but is now delaying its switch-on to give it time to implement a range of new services. Among Orcon’s new offerings will be a service which allows users to set their landline and mobile handsets so that both ring when a call is received, allowing a customer to pick up a call and retrieve voicemail on either phone. The firm is also working on a DVB-H mobile TV broadcast service.
