Has Apple’s Orange deal already gone rotten?

1 Oct 2007

The much publicised deal to allow France Telecom’s Orange division to distribute Apple’s iPhone in France is said to be in difficulty, as both sides struggle to come to an agreement over the terms of the deal. Reuters reports that the pair are at loggerheads over the proportion of revenues each will receive under the agreement, with Orange said to be unhappy over the amount it is being asked to relinquish under the deal. With the Christmas season now looming, the launch if the iPhone handset in France could be derailed unless Orange and Apple agree terms on how to make the venture bear fruit.
