Croatian incumbent telco T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT), a subsidiary of Germany’s Deutsche Telekom (DT), has entered the bidding for the 49.13% stake in Telekom Slovenije put up for sale by the Slovenian government, the Slovene Press Agency reports. T-HT was one of several prospective strategic buyers to meet a registration deadline of 28 September. Local analysts have queried the move, as DT also controls Hungary’s Magyar Telekom, which reportedly also took out the documents necessary to place a bid. Turk Telekom, Iceland’s Skipti and Italy’s Telecom Italia are also in the running for a slice of Telekom Slovenije. Bidders are set to be formally announced on 15 October.
