eMobile contracts Huawei for HSDPA expansion

Japanese mobile operator eMobile has signed a HSDPA network expansion contract with Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei. Under the deal, the vendor will deploy HSPA technology to extend network coverage to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya and their surrounding areas. Huawei will install more than 2300 distribution Node-B base stations including its indoor distributed base station (iDBS), giving eMobile coverage in Tokyo’s subway and commercial areas.
