20 Sep 2007

Apple has confirmed recent speculation and named T-Mobile as the exclusive distributor of the iPhone in Germany. The handset, which as well as being a mobile phone doubles as an mp3 player with an 8GB hard drive, will be in T-Mobile shops from 9 November 2007, at a price of EUR399 (USD557) with a two-year contract with the operator. T-Mobile plans to expand its EDGE network nationwide by the end of this year in order to facilitate downloads to the iPhone, which will also work over the firm’s network of 8,600 hotspots in Germany.
