The merger of Croatia’s two largest cablecos Digital City Media (DCM) and Adriatic Kabel has been completed, and the enlarged group has now been renamed B.net Croatia, its Austrian owner Burgenlandische Elektrizitatswirtschafts (Bewag) announced this week. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms dtabase, Bewag acquired both DCM and Adriatic Kabel in April 2007, in a deal worth EUR55 million. The operator has at least 92,000 cable customers in Zagreb, Split, Osijek, Rijeka, Zadar, Velika Gorica and Solin. Bewag says it will invest EUR15 million over three years to fully upgrade B.net’s cable networks to provide triple-play voice, internet and TV services. Its goal is to win over a quarter of a million subscribers in the country’s five largest cities.
