T-Mobile Hungary has extended its product portfolio with the addition of two new modems capable of supporting its HSDPA mobile broadband service. Starting yesterday, T-Mobile customers can now access the internet with the maximum available speed of 7.2Mbps in the capital Budapest, by using the new modems: the T-Mobile web’n’walk Box 7.2+ and NetCard Plus. In addition, the operator says its web’n’walk Box 7.2+ is the first HSUPA modem offered by a Hungarian mobile operator which supports uplink speeds of 1.45Mbps ‘within a substantial part of the network in Budapest’. Customers can sign up to a two-year 5GB mobile internet package with the web’n’walk NetCard Plus modem costing HUF3,990 (USD21.67), while the while the web’n’walk Box 7.2+ can be purchased for HUF9,990, it said. T-Mobile Hungary recently announced it had extended its mobile broadband network to 89 cities, making the service available to over 45% of the Hungarian population.
