Orange to take Ten

10 Sep 2007

Orange France, owned by France Telecom, is in talks to buy a stake in mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Ten, according to a report by local newspaper La Tribune. The report says Ten has ‘several tens of thousands’ of subscribers, and is seeking increased financing. Ten was launched over Orange’s GSM network last year by the former CEO of Tele2 France, Jean-Louis Costanza, and has AXA Private Equity as a major shareholder. It has differentiated itself by offering internet-based services such as a joint subscription to mobile MSN Messenger and mobile push e-mail for EUR8 per month.
