French media group Vivendi says it is interested in increasing its equity stakes in its SFR mobile phone and Canal Plus pay-TV subsidiaries, although it says it is not in talks with Vodafone over SFR, reports Reuters citing Vivendi’s chief executive as quoted by Les Echos. ‘We do not hold 100% of either SFR or Canal Plus. We thus wish to use any opportunity to strengthen our stakes in the capital of these two companies. As to SFR, there are currently no talks with Vodafone,’ he said. UK-based Vodafone Group currently owns 44% of SFR.
