Telkom awards CDMA contract to ZTE

Telkom Indonesia has awarded a CDMA2000 network expansion contract to ZTE of China. Under the deal, the vendor will expand network coverage to four major cities in the eastern part of Sulawesi, Indonesia. No financial terms were disclosed. Telkom and ZTE previously partnered in August 2004 when the Chinese firm supplied optical fibre products for the telco’s national backbone network transmission project.
