MTC to move base to Bahrain

Bahrain is set to become the headquarters for Kuwait-based mobile giant MTC Group, according to its CEO. Bahrain News Agency reports that Dr Ahmed Al Shatti told an Arabic newspaper the firm would transfer the base for dealing with its 20 million subscribers in 21 countries to Bahrain in the first quarter of next year. Among the reasons cited by Dr Al Shatti were Bahrain’s ‘ideal business climate’ and its status as the financial centre of the Gulf region. MTC officials said they would be making a formal announcement on the subject early next month.
