Orange in talks over possible iPhone deal

24 Aug 2007

France Telecom (FT) executive Louis-Pierre Wenes has confirmed that Orange is in talks over a possible deal to market Apple’s iPhone in Europe, although he added that no deal had been agreed. Reuters, citing Wenes’s comments in the Paris Match magazine, says the FT executive has now confirmed that ‘There are several of us in talks with Apple to market the iPhone.’ Earlier this week, FT remained tight-lipped over press suggestions it had struck a deal with the US company. Germany’s T-Mobile is also reported to have signed up to market iPhones, and is understood will share 10% of the revenues it makes from the service with Apple.
