Belgacom net income rises 30%

Belgium’s largest telco by revenue and subscribers, Belgacom, reports that first half net income rose 30% year-on-year to EUR564 million (USD765 million), helped by the purchase of the remaining stake in cellco Proximus from Vodafone Group, and strong performance from internet, TV and ICT activities. Sales were unchanged at EUR3.04 billion. At 30 June the telco had 1.18 million ADSL lines, up 11% year-on-year, and 4.42 million active mobile subscribers.
