BrT looking to generate 10% of revenues from VAS next year

21 Aug 2007

Brasil Telecom’s mobile arm BrT GSM hopes to generate 10% of annual sales in 2008 from value added services, writes BNamericas citing BrT manager Rafael Magdalena. The wireless unit posted sales of BRL512 million (USD254 million) in its fiscal second quarter to end-June, compared with BRL289 million in 2Q06, and sees data as key to its future growth. Magdalena says income from SMS, MMS, WAP, ringtones and interactive services will continue to drive growth in the coming financial year as more advanced handsets come online at a more affordable cost.
