Globe earmarks up to USD900m for network expansion

14 Aug 2007

Filipino telecoms company Globe Telecom has said it may spend up to USD900 million in the coming year to expand and upgrade its networks and services to meet growing subscriber demand. The Manila-based operator is looking to boost its mobile subscriber base to 20 million by the end of the year, up from 18.1 million at end-June, as increased economic activity in the domestic market bolsters consumer spending.
