14 Aug 2007

Ericsson has won a contract to expand Excelcomindo’s GSM/GPRS and W-CDMA/HSPA networks in the country. The Swedish equipment vendor has been awarded a 3.5-year frame agreement to supply 2G and 3G radio access network equipment, MINI-LINK transmission equipment and a Mobile Softswitch Solution. The deal will pave the way for Excelcom to migrate to a cost effective all-IP network to support rising demand for its services. The network expansion will also extend the operator’s geographic footprint, enabling it to deliver mobile broadband services to a greater proportion of the population.
