Pannon inks Ericsson deal

Telenor-owned cellco Pannon has awarded Ericsson a contract for the expansion of its W-CDMA network and for HSPA deployment. The agreement, which lasts for two years, sees Ericsson maintain its position as sole supplier of Pannon’s 3G radio access network. No financial details have been disclosed. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Pannon is Hungary’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers with almost 3.2 million customers and a 32.1% market share at the end of March 2007.
