Telstra reports that its net profit for the year ended 30 June 2007 rose to AUD3.28 billion (USD2.82 billion) from AUD3.18 billion a year earlier, slightly less than market expectations. The company said total revenue grew 3.9% to AUD23.96 billion on the back of increases in mobile, broadband, advertising and directories and IP access. But growth was partially offset by a 4.1% decline in revenue from its fixed line network. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased 5.1% to AUD5.78 billion. Capital expenditure increased 39% to AUD5.98 billion.
