Data published by the French telecoms regulator Arcep shows that the country’s mobile phone base grew by 1.2% in the three months to 30 June compared with the first quarter. In total, there were 52.54 million mobile users at the end of June, a mobile penetration of 83.2%, up from 82.4% in March. Pre-paid customers accounted for 17.96 million, down 0.3% quarter-on-quarter, while post-paid users increased 1.6% in the period to 34.58 million. The regulator’s figures are based on extrapolating data on all operators with more than 250,000 lines, Arcep said.
