Ericsson wins with Personal

Ericsson has won a contract to expand, modernise and upgrade the national GSM network of Paraguayan mobile operator Telecom Personal. Ericsson says its mobile softswitch solution will be deployed to increase coverage and capacity on the network. Personal Paraguay, which offers services under the name Nucleo, is majority owned by Telecom Argentina. It is Paraguay’s second largest cellco, with 1.3 million subscribers and a 34% market share at the end of March, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
