Numericable signs MVNO agreement with Bouygues

26 Jul 2007

Bouygues Télécom has signed an MVNO agreement with French cable operator Numericable (formerly Noos), reports Les Echos newspaper without citing sources. Commercial launch is not expected until early 2008. The tie-up gives Numericable a ‘quadruple-play’ option of TV, internet, fixed line telephony and mobile services, enabling it to go head-to-head with France Télécom’s Orange unit and Vivendi affiliate neuf Cegetel. Les Echos quoted an unnamed source within the cableco as saying that the firm will initially target around ten million mobile customers, although its network currently serves only 3.5 million homes.
