J:COM had 2.69 million subscribing households at end-June

Jupiter Telecommunications Co Ltd. (J:COM), the largest multiple system operator (MSO) in Japan by subscribers, says it had a total of 2.69 million subscribing households served by its 23 managed franchises at the end of June 2007, up 476,800, or 21.5% since 30 June 2006. The MSO attributes the growth to gains made within its existing franchises and the effects of newly consolidated franchises. Combined revenue generating units (RGUs) for cable television, high speed internet access and telephony services reached 4.69 million, up 819,300 year-on-year. The bundle ratio (average number of services received per subscribing household) was 1.74 as of 30 June 2007, down marginally from 1.75 previously. As of the close of June J:COM had 2.137 million cable TV subscribers, 1.157 million high speed internet customers and 1.213 million telephony customers.
