Macedonia’s telecoms regulator the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) says it has received the requisite payments for the national WiMAX licences it recently awarded to Cosmotelco and Nexcom. Cosmotelco, which, under the terms of the tender requirements, has registered a company in Macedonia under the name Association for Telecommunication Services (Americom), paid EUR1.5 million for its concession; Nexcom paid EUR151,002, according to a report from Makfax. The two firms will receive their licences for the provision of public communication services, including wireless telephony, internet and TV, next Monday.
