18 Jul 2007

BNamericas reports that Venezuela’s state IT institute CNTI is working with US chip manufacturer Intel to deploy a fixed and mobile WiMAX network in several areas of Caracas during the second half of 2007. Government institutions and private companies will jointly develop the project, according to Guillermo Deffit, Intel’s business development manager for Latin America. Intel and CNTI have been conducting pilot tests over the last few months, Deffit added.
