The National Communications Commission has approved the bids submitted by Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone, Vastar Cable TV System, Global On, Tatung Telecommunications, First International Telecom and the joint venture between Vibo Telecom and Tecom. Five unnamed bidders had their applications rejected. The second stage of the tender process begins on 26 July.
