200,000 cable telephony subscribers, paper says

According to Polish business daily Rzeczpospolita there were 200,000 cable telephony subscribers at the end of June 2007, representing approximately 2% of all fixed line users. According to estimates of the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communications (PIKE), cablecos lured around PLN100 million away from fixed line operators in 2006. PIKE claims that the most active VoIP provider is UPC, which has 83,000 telephony customers, followed by Multimedia Polska (52,000 plus 110,000 fixed line subscribers to its TeleNet arm), Aster (41,000) and Vectra (19,000).
