Grupo Televisa, Mexico’s largest broadcaster, has obtained conditional approval from antitrust regulators to buy 49% of the nation’s second largest cable company. Televisa will be allowed to buy the stake in Cablemas on the condition that it offers its free channels to all pay-TV providers nationwide, Mexico’s Federal Competition Commission said in a statement. Televisa has 90 days to comply with the requirement.
