T-Mobile USA has signed a USD150 million extension of its GSM equipment supply contract with Nortel Networks. Nortel will be upgrading T-Mobile’s existing networks to improve efficiency and boost capacity. The multi-year deal continues a long-standing relationship which has seen the pair working together since 1995, when T-Mobile USA was still known as Voicestream Wireless. T-Mobile, which is owned by Deutsche Telekom of Germany, serves more than 26 million customers across the US.
