Belarus’ universal service tender fails to attract interest

A government tender for a contract to provide universal service provision in Belarus has failed after only one bid was received. According to online news portal, the sole bidder, Belpoczta (Belarusian Post), applied to participate in the process which took place between 22 May and 25 June. The tender included two lots: 1), paid phones network in remote/rural areas; and 2), internet access for Public Internet Access Points (PIAPs). Belpoczta applied for the second lot.
