Telenor to acquire Talkmore

10 Jul 2007

Telenor has confirmed that it has agreed a deal to acquire Norwegian wireless reseller Talkmore for NOK135 million (USD25.26 million). Approval must now be sought from the Norwegian Competition Authority. ‘Talkmore operates within the low-price segment of the Norwegian mobile market. We are pleased that we have managed to secure a substantial customer base and key experience through this acquisition. Telenor shall be a leading player within this segment,’ said Morten Karlsen Sørby, Executive Vice President and Head of Telenor Nordic.

Talkmore will remain a separate brand and the company will continue with the same market focus. Talkmore’s 60,000 customers are currently served either through Telenor or NetCom’s network. Those served by the latter will in due course be transferred to Telenor’s network.
