TIM goes with Huawei

Italy’s largest cellular operator, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), has selected Chinese equipment supplier Huawei Technologies to expand and upgrade its HSDPA networks covering Southern Italy and Sicily. TIM claimed 33.6 million subscribers and 40% of Italy’s mobile market at the end of March, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
