The Telekom Austria Group has raised its long-term EBITDA growth prospects for the period 2007-2010 and disclosed the expected impact of the recently introduced roaming regulation on its 2007 EBITDA. The group expects EBITDA to grow on average by approximately 1.7% to 2.2% annually between 2007 and 2010. For 2007, the firm says that the impact of the new EU-wide roaming regulation, which has called for lower interconnect charges on international mobile calls, should be offset by increased roaming usage and an improved performance across its cellular operations.
Boris Nemsic, CEO of the Telekom Austria Group, said: ‘The recently introduced regulation represents a burden for the Telekom Austria Group. However, we are confident to be able to limit its impact through marketing initiatives stimulating usage, strict cost control and additional contributions from our international mobile operations.’
