Vodafone Germany launches HSUPA card

6 Jul 2007

Cellco Vodafone Germany has launched a notebook data card that enables download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1.45Mbps. The card uses high speed upload packet access (HSUPA) technology so that customers can upload data at higher speeds than a fixed line broadband connection. Outside regions of HSPA coverage, the card uses a 3G or GPRS/EDGE connection for data transmissions over the Vodafone infrastructure. The new card will be available from 9 July 2007. The HSPA network is currently being extended across major German conurbations and HSUPA will be deployed over the entire Vodafone 3G network by the summer of 2008.
