Alcatel-Lucent has announced that its IP routing solution has been selected by China Unicom as the foundation of a national network transformation. As a result, China Unicom will accelerate the delivery of IP-based premium voice, multimedia and VPN services. The network deployment will cover 65 cities across 13 provinces and will be completed by the end of 2007. The project was secured through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent’s flagship company in China.
