M1, StarHub ink joint MeTV deal

3 Jul 2007

Singaporean mobile operators MobileOne Asia (M1) and StarHub have signed a deal allowing the latter’s customers to gain access to M1’s mobile video platform, MeTV. Under the network sharing deal, MeTV will be made available to StarHub customers from the third quarter of this year. M1 launched the new service in January this year and has so far signed up more than 50,000 users. Commenting on the joint venture initiative, Neil Montefiore, CEO of M1 said: ‘The synergies and benefits that can be derived from this collaboration will greatly add to the viability of the MeTV service. Not only will customers benefit from an explosion of content choices, but the availability of the service to the enlarged customer base will generate a critical mass of shared interest and experience which could encourage even more usage and trial among users and their peers.’
