Indian cellco Bharti Airtel has confirmed it has launched its GSM network on the islands of Jersey and Guernsey, in partnership with Vodafone. ‘We are committed to bringing world-class services to customers and adding value to communities and businesses on the islands,’ Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman and group CEO of Bharti, said in a statement. Bharti Airtel was granted a licence to provide mobile services on the two islands in 2006. Services will be offered under the Airtel-Vodafone brand, following an agreement signed between them in May this year.
