Unicel set to receive additional investment as it prepares for take-off

According to BNamericas, citing newspaper Estado de São Paulo, the controllers of Brazilian airline Gol Linhas may invest USD50 million to acquire a 45% stake in cellco Unicel. The Constantino family is reported to be in an advanced stage of negotiations to purchase the stake. Unicel received final approval from regulatory body Anatel in April 2007 to become São Paulo’s fourth mobile phone operator.
