The Macedonian telecoms regulator, the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC), says it has received 35 bids from groups wishing to secure WiMAX licences in the country. The Republic of Macedonia announced its intentions to hold a public tender for the 3.5GHz spectrum in April this year. At the time it said it planned to offer two national licences in the 3400MHz-3600MHz frequency bands, as well as three more licences for frequencies divided amongst six regions in the country.
