Sprint’s EV-DO Rev A expanded

US cellular operator Sprint Nextel has expanded its high speed mobile networks based on CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A technology. The cellco says its Rev A networks now cover more than 203 million people in 10,000 cities, offering data connections with average download speeds of 600kbps-1.4Mbps (3.1Mbps peak) and average upload rates of 350kbps-500kbps (1.8Mbps peak). Sprint is the third largest cellular operator in the US, with 53.6 million customers at the end of March, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
